Michelle Tamashiro Executive Director
Education: Child Development Supervisor (Level 3 in Early Learning and Child Care); MRU, School Age Child Care Program Certificate; BVC.
Work experience: I have worked in the childcare field for over 30 years. I have held a variety of positions from Special Needs worker to Family Support Worker. In September of 1990, Child Development Dayhomes became my life. It's been over 24 years and I haven't looked back.
Awards: Recipient of the Calgary and Area Child Care Award of Excellence for Director in a Family Childcare Program in 2006.
Favorite part of the job: I adore children and I have the best Early Learning and Childcare Team ever!! I enjoy sharing my knowledge and experience with Childcare Consultants and Providers to help create positive early learning and childcare environments for children. Planning Professional Development opportunities for Childcare Professionals, collaborating with others in the Childcare Community, sitting on advisory Committees, and supporting ELCC practicum students are other great perks.
Special interests: Spending time with my family and friends. Travelling and music.
Cheryl Crowther Assistant Director
Education: Children’s Mental Health Certificate; Diploma in Disability Studies; Child and Youth Human Rights Certificate; Certification as Child Development Supervisor
Work experience: 5 years working front line in an Inclusive Daycare; 3 years operating a family day home through CDDH; 15 years as a Child Care Consultant/Assistant Director.
Awards: Recipient of the Calgary and Area Child Care Award of Excellence for Child Care Consultant in 2005.
Favorite part of the job: I enjoy meeting new people and having the opportunity to mentor others through sharing my experiences.
Special interests: Spending valuable time with my family and being involved in my children’s sports teams (hockey, soccer). Camping and hiking. Volunteer work with children and adults with different abilities. Committee involvement with the Alberta Family Child Care Association.
Elsie Harder Childcare Consultant

Kim Hopkins Childcare Consultant
Education: Childcare Supervisor, ECED Early Childhood Equivalency Diploma (ON), NNEB National Nursery Examination Board Certification
Work experience: Started with CDDH in 1999 after working as a daycare director and overseeing summer camps for school age children.
Favorite part of the job: Helping coach dayhome providers and having the opportunity to play and interact with the children in the dayhome.
Special interests: Participating in sports and outdoor activities and volunteering with the Magic of Christmas charitable organization.
Leslie Hawk Childcare Consultant
Education: Bachelor of Arts Degree in Child and Youth Studies, Childcare Supervisor (Level 3 in Early Childhood Education)
Work experience: Started with CDDH in Feb. 2011. 15 years experience in teaching, coaching and child care. Previously a preschool teacher and assistant daycare director for 2 years before becoming a child care consultant.
Favorite part of the job: Being able to use my coaching background to support and guide my providers to be successful. Going into the homes and interacting with the children and provider. Consistently expanding my knowledge of the child care field and sharing that knowledge with others to help them flourish. Being a support to parents and assisting them in finding quality childcare.
Special interests: Coaching and developing women's field lacrosse players, coaches, and umpires. Playing field lacrosse, running, fitness, conditioning and training. Taking on new adventures with my husband and two daughters.
Marissa Lockhart Client Care Consultant / Administrative Assistant
Education: Child Worker (Level 2 in Early Learning and Child Care) - Mount Royal University
Work experience: I have been with CDDH as a Client Care Consultant since 2007. I am now on the Administration Team. My mom says I have been changing diapers since I was in diapers so I always knew that my career would include children. I started my career in childcare in high school which eventually turned into a full time caregiver position. From Daycare, I moved to Preschool where I spent 4 years as a Teacher's Assistant and 1 year as a Preschool Teacher.
Favorite part of the job: I love everything about my day to day work. We have an amazing team, amazing providers, wonderful parents and children and I get to interact with all of them daily!
Special interests: I enjoy spending time with my 4 daughters and husband doing anything from board games to drives through the country, reading romance novels and watching movies
Karen Fisher Childcare Consultant / Administrative Assistant
Education: ECE Diploma, Childcare Supervisor (Level 3 in Early Childhood Education)
Work experience: I have been in childcare since 1981. I have worked as a nanny, in daycare working with the children and as a Director, as an ECE teacher, a parent, a dayhome provider and a consultant. I have been with Child Development Dayhomes for over 7 years.
Favorite part of the job: I love to visit with the children and help support the provider in creating stimulating and quality environments.
Special interests: I love crafting and camping.
Yvonne Clifford Childcare Consultant
Education: Child Development Supervisor (Level 3 in Early Learning and Child Care Education) and Business Management Certificate
Work experience: I have been working in the field of Early Childhood for 25 years. I have worked as an Assistant Director of Daycare, Family Dayhome Coordinator/Director, FDH Consultant, Family Dayhome Provider, Healthy Families Worker and Program Administration/Coordinator. I started with Child Development Dayhomes in November 2012.
Favorite part of the job: I really love to work with parents, colleagues and caregivers to provide the best possible care for children. I love to play, teach, role model and advocate for quality childcare.

Teresa Larkin Client Care Consultant / Child Care Consultant
Education: I have my Level 1 and am currently working on my Level 2 Child Care Worker in Early Learning and Child Care.
Work experience: Started with Child Development Dayhomes in July 2012. I have been in the Child Care field for 24 years. I started off as a Nanny and then once I had my own children, I operated an Approved Regulated Dayhome in England for 10 years.
Favorite part of the job: I love working with children and interacting with people. This job is perfect for me as aI get to do both.

Kathryn Hart Childcare Consultant
Education: Child Development Worker (Level 2 in Early Learning and Child Care Education)
Work experience: Started with Child Development Dayhomes in 2008 as a Dayhome Provider and moved in to the role of Child Care Consultant in October 2011
Favorite part of the job: My favourite part of the job is spending time in the Dayhomes, interacting with the children and being able to connect with and support Providers.

Zoe Becker Childcare Consultant
Education: Early Childhood Level 3
Work experience: 15 years working in the childcare field. Several years of Daycare experience in the Uk. Came to work in Calgary as a nanny and also worked in a school for special needs children as a Teacher’s Aide. Child Care consultant with Child Development Dayhomes since 2006.
Favorite part of the job: The Monthly Monitoring visits
Special interests: Working out at the gym, baking and spending time with my family.
Kathy Kubik Childcare Consultant
Education: Diploma in Early Childhood Education
Work experience: Previous: Early Childhood Educator, Preschool Program Director, Family Dayhome Provider (with CDDH)
Favorite part of the job: I love being able to utilize my education and past experiences to help others provide amazing learning opportunities for the children in their care. The wealth of knowledge that this Agency has is endless. It is extremely gratifying to be a part of a Team that recognizes and celebrates each person’s unique contributions and ideas.
Special interests: spending time with my family, especially when we can enjoy the beautiful outdoors that Alberta has to offer.
Nicole Day Childcare Consultant
Education: Child Care Supervisor (Level 3)
Work experience: YMCA Outdoor Education, Educator at Kids and Company Child Care Centre, Primary Caregiver and Educator at University of Calgary Child Care Centre West Campus and Private Nanny.
Favorite part of the job: I've always found early childhood development to be incredibly interesting. I love learning about how children learn. Applying that knowledge and being a resource for providers and colleagues is truly rewarding. I love doing playroom makeovers. I enjoy interacting with providers and parents as well as offering support and guidance. I especially enjoy interacting with children, as they always make me smile.
Special interests: Keen interest in poetry, creative writing, hiking, reading, camping, climbing, biking, health, gardening, decorating, yoga and culture.
Carlee Reardon Child Development Support / Child Care Consultant
Education: Bachelor of Community Rehabilitation and Disability Studies from the University of Calgary, Diploma in Disability Studies from Mount Royal University.
Work experience: I have been working with children of a variety of ages and abilities for 6 years. My main focus has been in working with children with disabilities. I have worked in a wide range of setting including schools, Early Learning Centers and recreational/fitness studios. I love finding new ways to help children learn including traditional methods and other methods; including movement.
Favorite part of the job: I love working with a variety of people and children. I enjoy being a part of a team that’s focus is on helping children learn and develop. I also enjoy having the ability to see environments that foster learning and development within the comfort of a home.
